Opening day has arrived for El Famoso, the Southern California-Mexican inspired diner and bar coming to Gables Water Street in Las Colinas: February 16. The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner.

Longtime residents of North Texas all know the name of Billy Bob Barnett. He’s the larger-than-life entertainment guru from Fort Worth who created his namesake “world’s biggest honky tonk” down by the stockyards. Hold onto your hats, folks, because Billy Bob is back in business!

The City of Irving plans to expand the Georgia Farrow Recreation Center. The expansion would include a larger fitness center, additional gym, more parking and new restrooms and locker rooms.

The Heritage Aquatic Center will close for six weeks for pool renovations beginning in late spring.
