Mission:
The mission of Leadership Irving-Las Colinas is to identify, educate, and develop future leaders and to motivate these leaders for civic, charitable, and community involvement.

Professional Development:
Each class is conducted over a period of eight months, from September through April. After the initial team building retreat, the class meets on the first Friday of each month for a full eight-hour day. Leadership Irving-Las Colinas class members can miss no more than 8 hours of class days

Program Activities:
Monthly sessions, team building, leadership skills development, communication skills development, establishment of a close networking group and becoming a member of the Leadership Irving-Las Colinas Alumni group.

Program Goals:

  • Provide a systematic program to enhance awareness of community opportunities, challenges, and resources
  • Open lines of communication and strengthen existing relationships with participants from various segments of the community  and with community leaders
  • Encourage participants to broaden their involvement in community affairs by matching skills and interests to existing needs
  • Explore leadership skills and how to become a more effective leader

Tuition:
The tuition fee is $1,250. As a valued supporter, members of the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce will receive a discounted tuition rate of $1,150. If your organization is currently not a member of the Chamber and would like to know more about joining, please contact Dagmar Metzler – dmetzler@irvingchamber.com or (214) 217-8484. The tuition fee covers costs for leadership seminars, meals, program materials and meeting functions.
