The Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber and the Irving Hispanic Chamber recently celebrated the grand opening of Cornerstone Self Storage at 2300 Imperial Drive at SH-183 with a ribbon cutting. This is a fully climate-controlled facility that is co-owned by Don Herring, Jr. and Fred Gans with Cornerstone Development Corporation.  Don Herring has successfully converted two former retail locations on Airport Freeway into alternative uses including Cornerstone Self-Storage, which was previously a Toys R Us store, and Don Herring Mitsubishi, which was formerly a Circuit City store.

 

No matter what you want to store, Cornerstone Self-Storage has climate controlled units ranging in size from 5x5 to 20x30 with gated security and 24-hour access. Noah's Opens New Event Center with Ribbon Cutting

Scooter Bean's Celebrates Opening with Special Ribbon Cutting

Irving has long been known for its big corporations and Fortune 500's but it also has some great places eat. Including, Scooter Bean's who located in Heritage Crossing, celebrated their opening with a special ribbon cutting ceremony with your Chamber.

Scooter Bean's was transitioned from one of Irving's original service stations into the restaurant we see today. The building has been owned and operated in the same family for over 30 years and it retains the charm and character of the original service station. They offer breakfast and lunch which you can enjoy indoors or on an outdoor patio.

Fairfield Inn & Suites Celebrates Opening with Ribbon Cutting

Marriott International, Inc., the Chamber, and nearly 100 guests celebrated the opening of the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriot with a ribbon cutting on February 17th. Located at 4210 West Airport Freeway, the former Drury Inn Hotel will operate as a Marriott franchise owned and managed by Savoy Dallas Hotels LLC.
 
The new Fairfield Inn & Suites public space features an innovative and contemporary design that is both flexible and functional. Thoughtfully designed rooms offer a flat-panel HDTV, an iHome Stereo and the sleeping area features plush mattresses, down blankets and crisp linens to create a truly revitalized bedroom experience. Additional in-room amenities include an ergonomic desk chair, hair dryer and two phones with free local calls. 

A complimentary hot breakfast is available each morning in the lobby area. Other hotel amenities include a heated outdoor swimming pool, exercise room, valet laundry service, free high-speed Internet and fax and copy service. Rates begin at $89 per night on weekends and $129 per night during the week.

Nissan North America Opens New Irving Training Center

Earlier this week, Nissan North America, Inc. celebrated the opening of its new Dallas Training Center located in Irving. The training center - located at 6641 N. Beltline Road, Suite 140 - will provide dealership technicians service training on both Nissan and Infiniti products for technicians located in the Central region which covers thirteen surrounding states.

 

The open house ceremony was hosted by Mario Polit, Nissan's Director of Training, with officials from the state legislature, City of Irving, the Irving Chamber of Commerce and representatives from Nissan and Infiniti's Dallas/Fort Worth area dealerships also attended.

 

"Both Nissan and Infiniti continue to bring forward exciting new products to the market and our consistent focus on ensuring a quality ownership experience to our customers will be strengthened by this new facility," said Polit. "This new state of the art facility will support the launch of 20 new vehicles in the U.S. over the next 24 months in addition to ongoing core curriculum requirements. Technical training is part of the foundation of Nissan's ongoing effort to improve customer satisfaction."

 

Covering more than 25,000 square feet of operational area, the center includes five classrooms, component repair area, a 12,000 square foot Vehicle Demonstration Area featuring two alignment racks, twenty-three service bays, and twelve vehicle lifts. In addition to new model training, courses on core curriculum will be conducted at the center, covering topics such as heating and cooling systems, chassis integrity, on-board diagnostics and emissions.

AT&T Celebrates Grand Opening of their New MacArthur Location

Approximately 50 business and civic leaders celebrated the opening of the new AT&T Store at 7800 N. MacArthur Blvd.  AT&T combined their two former stores on MacArthur located next to Starbucks north of I-635 and next to Firehouse Subs south of I-635 into this new spacious location to better serve their customers.

Kaleb Pask, AT&T's Area Retail Sales Manager, also announced that they would be expanding their presence at this location for cell phone repairs. 

Thanking AT&T for their growing presence in Irving included State Representative Linda Harper-Brown, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Gerald Farris, City Councilman Michael Gallaway, and Chamber's President/CEO Chris Wallace.

A public grand opening is scheduled for all day Saturday, January 21st with special activities for the entire family. Here are some pictures from the event:
