The Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to supporting quality education, recognizing it is fundamental to developing a workforce with the knowledge and skills required for the future.

It is with a commitment to those values that the Chamber partners with area schools—from pre-K through post-secondary schools and colleges—to provide programs, incentives, mentors, internships and scholarships to students, employers and employees alike.

The Chamber’s view of education is broader than just primary, secondary and post-secondary schooling. There are an abundance of resources and ongoing seminars on important topics that affect investors and their teams. Among those activities are Leadership Irving, workforce development and great programs to help small businesses become established and succeed.

Irving is served by quality public school districts and nationally-recognized private and charter schools. There are also seven universities, colleges and trade schools located in the City.

K-12

Irving students in grades kindergarten through high school are served by three independent public school districts. Students in the northern third of Irving attend either Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD or Coppell ISD. Students in the southern two-thirds of the city attend Irving ISD. Our school districts are recognized as some of the best in Texas. Coppel ISD was named the fifth Best School District in Texas, with an A+ rating from Niche.com. Irving ISD recieved an B ranking and Carrolton-Farmers Branch ISD recieved a B+ ranking from Niche.com.

Private and Charter Schools

Irving is home to many private and charter schools. Among them are Christian, Catholic, Muslim, college prep, and honors schools. Also located in Irving is Uplift North Hills Preparatory, a charter school that ranks in the top one percent in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report.

Colleges, Universities and Post-Secondary Schools

There are seven post-secondary schools in Irving. Among those are four community college campuses and several technical training schools.

University of Dallas, a nationally recognized Catholic college located in Irving, consistently ranks as one of the best colleges in the country. U.S. News & World Report’s 2020 ranking placed UD #7 on the list of Best Regional Universities in the West. UD was also identified as the region’s fourth Best Value Schools.
