SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Small businesses are the lifeblood of any city, and the Irving Economic Development Partnership works to ensure that this vital segment of the business community stays strong.
The Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber’s Small Business Committee, Workforce Enhancement Council and Economic Development Team work to meet the needs of small businesses, especially those starting up in the city. They offer:
- Information on how to do business in Irving, such as permitting, zoning, and signage requirements
- Information on how to do business with the City of Irving
- Assistance resolving issues that arise in meeting City requirements
- Business-retention visits, to ensure small businesses’ needs are being met
- Assistance with human resources issues
- Networking groups
SCORE
The Service Corps of Retired Executives has an active chapter in Irving and a close relationship with the Irving Economic Development Partnership. This non-profit organization provides free, one-on-one counseling to Irving's small business owners and those interested in starting a small business.

Texas Workforce Commission
The TWC works with businesses to help recruit and hire high-quality employees at no cost to the employer. At its Irving office, the TWC offers job fairs and on-site interview and training facilities-all free of charge.
