Award-Winning Public Schools

Irving is served by three independent school districts: Irving, Coppell and Carrollton-Farmers Branch. All are home to award-winning schools and innovative programs that help students meet their goals and achieve their dreams.

Irving ISD

  • 26 Irving ISD schools and Irving ISD earned 67 Gold Performance Acknowledgements from the Texas Education Agency in 2007-08.
  • MacArthur High School named a 21st Century School of Distinction and a U.S. Department of Education National Blue Ribbon School.
  • Lamar Middle School and Good Elementary named National Blue Ribbon Schools.
  • Irving ISD named the first Microsoft Center of Excellence.
  • 2008 graduating seniors earned approximately $31 million in scholarships.
  • All students in grades 9-12 are issued laptop computers.

Coppell ISD

  • 12 Texas Education Agency "Exemplary" schools.
  • TEA-rated "Recognized" district.
  • Top ranking in Texas for TEA Gold Performance Acknowledgements.
  • Coppell High School, Coppell Middle School North and Coppell Middle School West made the Texas Business and Education Coalition's 2008 Honor Roll. Less than 4 percent of Texas 8,000 public high schools and middle schools received this honor.

Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD

  • 8 Texas Education Agency "Exemplary" schools.
  • TEA-rated "Recognized" district.
  • Average SAT score of 1045 is above both Texas and U.S. averages.
