Don Williams
Economic Development Director-Retention & Expansion

Don Williams serves as Director of Business Retention and Expansion and joined the Chamber staff in December 2003. Don is located in the Chamber's Heritage Crossing Office, at 135 S. Jefferson St.

His focus is assisting businesses in South Irving to increase their revenue, reduce costs and expand employment opportunities. Don accomplishes this through direct contact with businesses and organizing various networking opportunities. He works with commercial real estate brokers in the recruitment of new business into the South Irving market.

Don has worked with the education community to meet the needs of business and has coordinated economic incentives through the City of Irving for several recruitment and expansion projects. He works with the Irving Economic Development Team to assist businesses in applying for various grants including Skills Development and Emerging Technology. He has coordinated job fairs and worked with the Texas Workforce Commission to assist new businesses to meet their employee needs.

Don is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Angelo State University in San Angelo and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas in Austin . He retired from Verizon Communications in 2003 after a 28 year career.

Don and his wife Sharon are active volunteers in their church and in a small private school for children with learning differences.
