Chris E. Wallace, IOM is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce, the fourth largest Chamber in North Texas and the first national Five-Star Accredited Chamber in Texas. He also manages the Irving Economic Development Partnership. Wallace serves on the prestigious U.S. Chamber of Commerce Committee of 100 and as a Trustee of the Institute for Organization Management as well as a Regent of Northeast Institute at Villanova University. Wallace is the immediate past chairman of the North Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives Association and serves on the boards of the North Texas Commission, Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives, and Texas Prosperity Project as Chairman.
During his leadership at the Chamber, Irving has been successful in attracting corporations such as Celanese, Research in Motion (Blackberry), Fluor Corporation, TXU Energy, Consolidated Electrical Distributors and Health Management Systems to establish their headquarters in Irving-Las Colinas. The Chamber also constructed an award-winning marketing center which showcases state-of-the-art technology to promote Irving as an international community that is home to more than 8,000 businesses, including the global headquarters of five Fortune 500 companies and with the presence of more than 40.
Prior to being named Chamber President, Wallace served as the Vice President of Administration for the Las Colinas Association where he successfully developed and implemented a corporate communications and marketing program for the 12,000-acre Las Colinas development. Before returning to North Texas, Wallace was the Business Development Director for Reese Technology Center, a 4,000-acre business park developed from the former Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, Texas.
Wallace is a 1992 graduate of Texas Tech University and serves as a member of the Texas Tech Chancellor's Council as well as the Professional Advisory Board of the College of Mass Communications where he was named an Outstanding Alumnus in 2008.
Wallace has experience in economic development marketing, strategic planning, and public relations including management in both the public and private sectors. He has played an active role in several local, regional and state political campaigns. Wallace is a strong advocate of civic engagement through his involvement with numerous social service, arts and municipal-related boards/commissions. He was a finalist for a 2009 White House Fellowship.
