To strengthen relationships with legislators, develop and advocate local, state and national public policy that is supportive of the greater Irving-Las Colinas businesses and consumers.
- Monitor proposed legislation to ensure pro-business agenda
- Provide Board of Directors and Members with an update on legislation impacting businesses
- Assist Transportation Committee with Chamber positions/Board resolutions
- Advocate with ICVB for an Entertainment Overlay District concept/process
- Provide assistance with annual Texas Transportation Summit
- Maintain a database to easily mobilize Chamber volunteers to contact elected officials regarding issues/pending legislation that impacts local businesses.
- Educate businesses about government process and how to influence decision-making process
