Another ranking has the Dallas area inching toward the top tier of U.S. tech cities.  The study from the apartment search company ABODO looked at cities across the country by their tech employment opportunities, median tech salary, and median one-bedroom rent.

The Dallas-Plano-Irving region registered a median tech salary of $84,160 with average one-bedroom rent of $1,040, a wage-to-rent ratio of 6.7 to 1 resulting in being the second best in the U.S. behind only Madison WI.  By comparison, with an average rent of $3,480, the booming San Francisco area registered a ratio of just 2.6 to 1.

ABODO’s score metric gives a 75-percent weight to the number of tech employees per 1,000 total jobs. About 50 Dallas employees work in tech per 1,000 jobs, according to the company’s data.
