Irving Convention Center - Irving Texas

The Irving City Council has unanimously approved the proposed Irving Convention Center Hotel master development agreement, paving the way for design to begin. The convention center’s headquarters hotel will provide 350 guest rooms and more than 16,000 square feet of ballroom and meeting space.

The much-anticipated hotel will greatly strengthen the Irving Convention and Visitors Bureau’s ability to bring larger conventions to the city, resulting in more visitor dollars spent in Irving, as well as increased sales tax revenue. Envisioning a distinct entertainment district, city leaders purchased approximately 40 acres in the Las Colinas Urban Center in 2001. The hotel is the last element to be built.

“These are exciting times,” said Irving Economic Development Director Scott Connell. “The hotel will complete Irving’s convention, retail and entertainment district that will provide our visitors, businesses and residents tremendous first-class amenities.”

Garfield Public/Private is the project developer and BOKA Powell is the architect. Austin Commercial, the company that delivered the Irving Convention Center on time and under budget, will be the general contractor. Construction of the hotel is expected to begin in 2017 with the opening set for November 2018. In addition to serving the Irving Convention Center, the hotel will complement the Irving Music Factory, a $165 million entertainment and retail development currently under construction.
