Irving celebrated Christmas in July as holiday lighting and decorating company Christmas Decor is nearly done moving its headquarters to the city.
The Lubbock-based company first started moving to its new base nearly a year ago. The relocation will wrap up within the next 30 days as Christmas Decor brings the last of its inventory to North Texas.
Christmas Decor’s move has brought tidings of great joy to North Texas with the hiring of more than 10 local employees to staff a 125,000-square-foot office and warehouse space at 2301 Crown Court in Irving. The company currently employs 27 workers, 15 of which are based in Irving. In the next 18 months it plans to grow to 40 employees, around 30 of which will work at the North Texas base.
“There’s a much bigger pool of talent (in North Texas), and we plan to grow aggressively,” added Brandon Stephens, president of Christmas Decor.
Stephens said Dallas’ airports and accessibility across the U.S. landed it on the ‘nice list’ for a company move, but the region also makes sense for Christmas Decor’s distribution. Being located in the middle of the country will make it easier to ship product to franchisees, and to receive product ordered from overseas.
“Dallas is a major hub. It’s very accessible for franchisees and customers,” Stephens said. “Franchisees can come in for meetings, training and communication, and we can also do a lot of product distribution.”
Christmas Decor has 325 franchisees in 49 states and Canada that offer Christmas decorating services. Many of its franchise partners are landscapers or pest control business owners who offer the services during the winter.
