The Leadership Irving-Las Colinas Class of 2016 supports La Buena Vida boys with a place to enjoy sunshine, fresh air, fellowship and barbecue as class legacy project.
Groups from Texas Trees Foundation, TXU Energy, Plastronics, University of Dallas, Boy Scouts, and Singley Academy gathered this spring to plant trees, shrubs, flowers and lay down sod and build boxes for raised vegetable gardens.
LILC wants to complete the “La Buena Vida Backyard Project” by raising support for the costs contractor fee to pour a concrete patio, patio furniture, a barbecue grill and garden tools.
The project will culminate with a celebration/barbecue for the boys when our work is complete. Details will be posted on the La Buena Vida website.
To support or learn more about the project, please contact Dexter Freeman at email@example.com or (214) 214-8484.
About La Buena Vida Foundation
La Buena Vida Youth Leadership Foundation works to empower, inspire and educate today’s at-risk and homeless youth to become tomorrow’s great leaders. In October 2015, they opened the doors of La Buena Vida House a transitional living program for homeless young men aged 18-21. There are 7 currently enrolled in the program with a capacity to house 10-12 residents. It is the first of its kind in Irving to focus on unaccompanied homeless youth.
