This week, Forbes released “The Best Cities for Jobs in 2016.

Forbes ranked all 421 current metropolitan statistical areas based on employment data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics from 2004 through 2015. Rankings are based on recent growth trends, mid-term growth, long-term growth and the region’s momentum. The rankings are broken down by size since regional economies differ markedly due to their scale. For the big cities list, Forbes ranked the 70 MSAs that each have more than 450,000 jobs.

Irving is home to six Fortune 500 companies, three Fortune 1000 companies and more than 10,000 large, small, local and multinational businesses. The United States Chamber of Commerce named Irving one of the Top 7 Enterprising Cities in the nation.
