City Council single-member district places 1 and 7 and at-large district place 2 are up for election. Registered voters will cast their ballots during early voting from April 25 to May 3 and on Election Day, May 7. Any resident who is a registered voter may vote for at-large district place 2. Only registered voters living in the single-member district places 1 and 7 may vote for the candidate in their respective district. This year’s candidates are listed below in ballot order.

Single-Member District Place 1 – Those vying for the seat are John Danish, an attorney-at-law who has resided in the territory for 54 years and Loren Byers, commercial real estate who has lived in Irving for several years, has resided in the territory for six years.

Single-Member District Place 7 – Candidates seeking election are Kyle Taylor, a coordinator for volunteers for Irving Cares who has lived in the territory for 13 years and Emmanuel Lewis, a caregiver who has resided in the territory for 11 years.

At-Large District Place 2 – The candidates are Allan E. Meagher, UPS Freight who has resided in the territory for 15 years, Shamima Mondal, volunteer community service who has lived in the territory for four years and Tom Spink, an insurance agency owner who has lived in the territory for 26 years.

Early voting for the election will begin April 25 and run through May 3.

  • April 25-29: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
  • April 30: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • May 1: 1 to 6 p.m. 
  • May 2-3: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
