This reduction is represented by the 49 percent reduction in the property crime rate and a 51 percent drop in the violent crime rate.
The Irving Police Department said it recognizes the importance of community engagement in its efforts to fight and reduce crime. The department will continue strengthening its relationships with residents, crime watch groups and neighborhood associations in an effort to achieve even greater success.
