The Irving Police Department recently held a retirement ceremony for Sgt. Ned Thurmond. Thurmond spent 35 years serving the citizens and City of Irving. His tenure with the Irving Police Department showed his commitment to the job and the quality of the department, which has many longtime officers.

As a result of the retirement, Chief Larry Boyd promoted Officer Jeremy Hummert to the rank of sergeant.
