Olivella’s started as a standalone Neapolitan-style pizza place near Southern Methodist University in 2007. By the end of 2017 — patience, folks — the company is expected to have five restaurants open in North Texas.

The original near SMU; the shop in Victory Park; one in Lakewood; and two coming-soon stores, in Fort Worth by 2016 and Irving by 2017.

The Fort Worth shop will be located at 6333 Camp Bowie Road. In Irving, the restaurant will open at 5200 N. O’Connor Boulevard, in a development called Gables Water Street.

The Dallas Morning News characterized Olivella’s pizza as “thin, crisp, sweet, smoky and generally wonderful.” The restaurants also serve pastas such as lasagna and spaghetti with “mama’s meatballs.”

Olivella’s also has a pizza truck that serves at SMU sporting events and private functions.
