The Irving ISD’s HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Pre-school Youngsters) program celebrated 15 years of service to Irving families this week with a luncheon at Singley Academy.
The celebration included a welcome from Linda Torres-Rangel, Irving ISD Director of Language and Parent Service. In addition, Syl Benenson with the National Council of Jewish Women, was recognized for her many years of support of the program.
HIPPY is a free home-based literacy program for children between the ages of three to five years old who reside in the Irving Independent School District. Home instructors meet with the parents to present and review HIPPY curriculum, materials and activities that prepare children for school.
