Celina Cardenas, on behalf of Atmos Energy, presented a $2,500 check to Irving Fire Chief Victor Conley to help benefit the Irving Fire Department’s Public Education Programs.
Irving Fire Lt. Mike Chambers recently retired. He had 30 years of service with the department.
In other Fire Department news, the department has completed an upgrade of its LifePak monitors to the new LifePak 15 models. LifePak monitors are used by Fire Department Paramedics to rapidly assess patients with chest pain or difficulty breathing to determine if the problem is related to the patient’s heart. This ability to rapidly assess the patient increases the chances for survival if the paramedics determine that the patient is having a heart attack.
The new monitors have the latest computer programming for analysis of heart rhythm disturbances, are waterproof, and more shock resistant then previous models. They also have the ability to assess carbon monoxide levels in patients.
