At its Sept. 14 meeting, the board of directors of Irving Flood Control District Section III (IFCD 3) passed a tax rate of $0.1280 per $100 valuation for fiscal year 2015-16 for property owners it serves in the Valley Ranch area.
The approved rate for the coming year represents a $0.0161, or 11.2 percent, decrease from the $0.1441 per $100 valuation that was levied for the current 2014-15 fiscal year. As a result, a taxpayer in Valley Ranch will experience $16.10 in savings on District services for each $100,000 in assessed value in the coming tax year. This rate allows for completion of the multi-year emergency generator installation and Ledbetter Sump erosion control project, as well as continued funding of IFCD 3 operations and general maintenance activities.
The 2015-16 IFCD 3 tax year covers the period of Oct. 1, 2015 through Sept. 30, 2016.
Irving Flood Control District Section III (IFCD 3) is responsible for providing flood control facilities and operations and preserving the high quality of life provided in Valley Ranch. The District constructs and maintains canals, ponds and other natural water management facilities throughout the community. A publicly funded organization, IFCD 3 is led by a five-member board appointed by the Irving City Council.
