Airports agree to enhance cooperation, share knowledge and explore opportunities for collaboration

Leaders from Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport and Narita International Airport Corporation (NRT) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to foster closer relations and share best practices. This important partnership builds on the long friendship between the two airports and further connects Tokyo with Dallas Fort Worth for future initiatives.

DFW and Narita share a commitment to leading industry innovation in all aspects of airport management, and acknowledge each other as world-class leaders in the areas of customer service, operations, safety, technology, and air service development. The two airports recognize that an official partnership provides opportunities to promote increased trade and tourism between the DFW region and Japan.

“We are honored to enter into this agreement with Narita International Airport Corporation, particularly as we welcome Japan Airlines back to DFW later this year,” said John Ackerman, executive vice president for Global Strategy and Development for DFW Airport. “This cooperative agreement formalizes DFW’s relationship with Narita, though our friendship goes back more than 25 years with nonstop flights by American Airlines, JAL’s oneworld alliance partner. We look forward to future initiatives that will bring about more global awareness for our airports.”

DFW and Narita serve their respective regions as international air hubs, which connect Asia and North America. DFW hosts routes to 149 domestic and 56 international destinations for 63.5 million annual passengers, including more than 7 million international passengers. Narita International Airport hosts over 40 million annual passengers and flights to 100 international destinations and 17 domestic locations in Japan.
