Verizon reportedly is working on expanding its Irving footprint.
The company, which employs about 8,100 people at its Irving office, is in discussions with KDC to construct a large office project at its current corporate campus at 600 Hidden Ridge, according to The Dallas Morning News, which cited real estate brokers close to the deal.
The project, which has been referred to under the code name “pioneer”, according to the News, could add an additional several hundred thousand square feet to its current property.
Verizon (NYSE: VZ) has yet to respond to inquiries about the rumored expansion.
The company recently sold its Richardson complex to Q Real Estate Holdings LLC, the real estate affiliate of Fort Worth-based Q Investments. The property will be revamped to office multiple tenants.
In 2011 Verizon moved than 800 employees out of a six-story, 253,500-square-foot building at 919 Hidden Ridge Drive in Irving.
