College life for the University of Dallas’ record-breaking freshman class of approximately 400 students officially starts today. The Class of 2019 is the largest in the university’s 59-year history. The first day of class for most students will be Wednesday. Notable new students in the class of 2019 include an Olympic hopeful archer and the ninth of nine children to attend the university.
More than 70 orientation leaders and admission counselors will be on hand to welcome the new residents and their families and help the students move into campus housing.
“While move-in days at colleges and universities are common, the size of our undergraduate student population provides us with a unique opportunity to provide a more personal experience when compared to move-in day at larger universities,” John Plotts, University of Dallas vice president of enrollment and student affairs, said in a news release. “Even with record enrollment, our goal is to make sure all of our students and their families feel comfortable from the very moment they arrive.”
The university is a private, liberal arts college located at 1845 E. Northgate Drive. Visit udallas.edu.
