Kathy Howard receives the Commmunity Builder Award from the Masons.

Kathy Howard helps her community in countless ways — and always with a smile. Former City Council member Joe Philipp said she has had a profound impact on many Irving organizations, and even more so on the hearts and minds of Irving residents. Mary Oberlin, who also gives back to Irving, said, “Kathy is a blessing to this community and to all of us.”

Others described her as a tenacious go-getter, organizer, communicator and fundraiser. Her talents and friendships run deep.

For all she’s done for Irving, the Irving Masonic Lodge No. 1218 presented Howard with its Community Builder Award at a recent Irving-Las Colinas Rotary Club meeting at Las Colinas Country Club. The Grand Lodge of Texas in Waco gives the award in recognition of outstanding, selfless contributions to a community.

Howard seemed truly touched. “Thanks for this incredible honor,” she said. “I’ve enjoyed working with everyone.”

Beaming in the crowd was her husband, Clint Howard, who also has given much to Irving.

Congrats, Kathy. What a well-deserved honor!
