Imagine Irving Neighborhood Workshops Held April 7-9Presented by City of Irving

The City of Irving will hold three Neighborhood Workshops as part of its Imagine Irving comprehensive plan strategy. These Neighborhood Workshops are place-based exercises where participants will focus on a specific neighborhood or district within the city and work to explore themes such as redevelopment, circulation and accessibility, bike and pedestrian routes, and urban design. The three Focus Areas include:

Valley Ranch
5:30 – 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 7
Ranchview High School, 8401 Valley Ranch Parkway East
Valley Ranch has long been tied to the Dallas Cowboys. With their offices and training facilities relocating, Valley Ranch has an opportunity to think about its identity.

The Airport Freeway and Belt Line Area
5:30 – 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 8
Northwest Park Recreation Center, 2800 Cheyenne Street
For anyone arriving in the region via D/FW International Airport, this area provides the first impression people have of the city. With Irving Mall and surrounding businesses along State Highway 183 and Belt Line Road, this area is a critical commercial node, and a vision will help ensure its long-term viability.

Shady Grove
5:30 – 8:30 p.m., Thursday, April 9
Senter Park Recreation Center, 901 S Senter Rd.
Largely residential, with a mix of single-family and multifamily development and bordering two commercial nodes, strategies for investing in Shady Grove can work across the city.

These small-area workshops will lead to Neighborhood Plans that will be developed in coordination with the Comprehensive Plan.
