Congratulations to the Irving High School culinary arts team, who concocted the winning entry at the Student Taste of Dallas on November 23. The team, which includes seniors Karina Barrientos, Beverly Trevino, Hugo Torres and Evelyn Perez, whipped together a pumpkin maple pecan parfait to win the competition and a $500 prize.
Nimitz High School and Singley Academy culinary students also participated in the expo, along with students from Allen, DeSoto, Forney, Mesquite and Royse City. Students had to make either an appetizer or a dessert at the venue.
