Kroger recycled more than 1.2 million pounds of plastic in 2013 exclusively in the North Texas region with its year-round customer recycling initiatives, such as the Bag-2-Bag program.
On average, through the Bag-2-Bag program, Kroger recycles 100,000 lbs. of plastic per month in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. As a company, whether it is diverting waste from landfills, reducing our packaging, recycling plastic bags, or donating safe, perishable foods to food banks, we are increasing recycling rates and finding cost effective and responsible alternatives for our waste.
