Irving-based CEC, adds Phoenix-based Peter Piper’s 32 company-owned locations and 115 franchises to its portfolio of 577 Chuck E. Cheese’s. The company plans to continue the Peter Piper brand with operation of its current restaurants and expects to implement growth initiatives to expand the brand nationally, the company released in a statement Thursday.
“Peter Piper has already begun new brand strategies in recent years, including a heightened focus on technology and stronger engagement with the Hispanic community, one of the fastest-growing segments of the U.S. population,” said Tom Leverton, CEO of CEC. “We are eager to build on this foundation and strengthen Peter Piper’s brand by leveraging CEC’s scale, expertise and resources.”
CEC was acquired by New York-based Apollo Global Management for $1.3 billion earlier this year. The new owner attracted current CEO Tom Leverton, who left growing Dallas-based TopGolf to take the top post at CEC.
Since then Leverton has been mapping at strategies to grow the company.
