“First, it’s good for you — Steps & Strides is about taking care of yourself, attending to the body’s well-being; that makes a difference. Second, it’s good for someone besides you — Steps & Strides is about taking care of others: Family Promise makes a difference in the lives of real people right here in our midst, in our community,” said  Dale Patterson, Hackberry Creek Church pastor. “So while you are running, you benefit your body, and the lives and real somebodies in our community.”

Family Promise of Irving is a faith-based nonprofit ministry that supports families who are experiencing homelessness as they search for new jobs, undergo job training and obtain permanent housing.

“This is a great community event to advocate healthy lifestyles and homelessness awareness,” said Athena Clark, director of Family Promise of Irving.

Steps & Strides is sponsored by Gentle Dentistry of Las Colinas.
