Family Promise of Irving is seeking walkers and runners for their 4th Annual Steps & Strides 5K, 10K and one-mile fun run Sept. 6 at Hackberry Creek Church, 2000 Kinwest Parkway in Irving.
Registration starts at 7 a.m. The one-mile family fun run and walk starts at 8 a.m. and the 5K and 10K start at 8:30 a.m. There will an awards ceremony at 9:45 a.m. and all participants will receive a goody bag.
Proceeds from Steps & Strides will benefit Family Promise of Irving’s work to assist Irving’s homeless population. Dogs and strollers are welcome at the event, and there will be food and prizes following the runs.
“This is a great community event to advocate healthy lifestyles and homelessness awareness,” said Athena Clark, director of Family Promise of Irving.

Steps & Strides is sponsored by Gentle Dentistry of Las Colinas.
Early registration costs are $15 for one-mile fun run and walk, $25 for 5K, $35 for 10K and $15 for children 12 and under. Early registration ends Aug. 19.
