Irving ISD’s Jack E. Singley Academy School of Law and Public Service was one of six programs honored by the National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium (NASDCTEc). The program won an Excellence in Action award in the Law, Public Safety, Corrections and Security Career Cluster®.

Singley Academy received the award for its innovative engagement with local partners in the law enforcement, criminal justice and emergency services community bringing professionals into the classroom as instructors and guest lecturers while simultaneously getting students into professional settings under the supervision of experienced professionals through extensive internship and work-based learning opportunities.

Singley Academy accepted the honor in Phoenix, Ariz. at the 2014 Achieving Excellence in Career Technical Education: The National Career Clusters Institute.
