Jack E. Singley Academy School of Law and Public Service was one of six programs honored by the National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium. The program won an Excellence in Action award in the Law, Public Safety, Corrections and Security Career Cluster.

The award recognizes innovative engagement with local partners in the law enforcement, criminal justice and emergency services community and the bringing of professionals into the classroom as instructors and guest lecturers while also getting students into professional settings through extensive internship and work-based learning opportunities.

Singley Academy received the honor today in Phoenix, Ariz., at the 2014 Achieving Excellence in Career Technical Education: The National Career Clusters Institute.

“The School of Law and Public Service provides students with the information, technical skills and academic background to prepare them for a life of service to their community or nation,” IISD Director of CTE Shawn Blessing said in a news release.
