Presented by: City of Irving

Excitement is building for the City of Irving’s Independence Day Fireworks Show, recently ranked as the eighth best in the nation, and the only Texas city in the top 10, by personal Finance website WalletHub. As residents begin making plans to attend the celebration, the city wants to remind attendees the location of the event is changing due to construction in the Las Colinas Urban Center.

LOCATION: The Fireworks display will take place at 601 E. Las Colinas Blvd., on the south side of Lake Carolyn, near the intersection of E. Las Colinas Boulevard and Lake Carolyn Parkway this year. Map.

PARKING: Paid parking is available in the following area parking garages (the city recommends arriving early).

Directions: Due to road construction and closures, the city recommends avoiding O’Connor Boulevard and suggests the following alternate routes:

From State Highway 114: Exit on Riverside Drive and head north for parking at 545 E. John Carpenter Fwy, or continue northwest along the SH 114 access road to Brazos Drive for additional parking options.

From Spur 348 (Northwest Highway): Turn south onto Riverside Drive. Parking will be available on the right hand side, in Campión Trail’s parking lot. Continue walking south on Riverside Drive. Or, continue driving south on Riverside Drive, around Lake Carolyn, to the SH 114 access road. Turn right on the access road and follow it to Brazos Drive for additional parking options.

Public Transportation: Take the DART Orange Line train to the Las Colinas Urban Station stop, and walk a few minutes to the south end of Lake Carolyn. DART trains will be operating on a holiday schedule; for details visit their Special Events webpage at

The change in location is occurring due to construction in the Las Colinas Urban Center. Remember to bring a blanket or chair for seating comfort and enjoy the spectacular fireworks show at the end of the night.
