Construction has started for a new 13,000-square-foot corporate headquarters for Irving-based Davis Crane Service, a supplier and operator of hydraulic and conventional motor cranes since 1962.

Fort Worth-based general contractor, Speed Fab-Crete, and its design-build architectural partner, Callahan & Freeman, were tapped to perform construction and design services for the $2 million project. Slated for completion in December 2014, the stand-alone, two-story building will serve as Davis Crane Service’s new corporate office and crane fleet operating headquarters, now located at 1212 North Loop 12in Irving.  The project will include new parking/paving, sidewalks, utilities and supporting site improvements.

“Davis Crane Service’s new state-of-the-art facility will enable the company to expand the number and size of cranes in its fleet, accommodate its experienced staff, and ultimately better serve its rapidly-growing customer base,” president and co-owner of Speed Fab-Crete David Bloxom said in a news release.

In addition to Fort Worth-based Speed Fab-Crete and Callahan & Freeman Architects, the project team includes Dallas-based Civil Point Engineers, Inc.; Fort Worth-based Callahan Structural Engineers; and Arlington-based Fratto Engineering, Inc.
