Irving Memorial Day Service: Employees and their families are invited to honor Irving veterans at a Memorial Day Service hosted by the Veterans Memorial Park Committee. The service will begin at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, May 25 at the Irving Central Library, 801 W. Irving Blvd. A reception will be held at the Veterans Memorial Park, 644 Rock Island Road, following the program.
City Holiday/No Trash Collection: In observance of Memorial Day, there will be no residential trash, curbside recycling or brush collection Monday, May 26. In addition, the following facilities will be closed:
- City Hall
- Heritage and North Lake aquatic centers
- Hunter Ferrell Landfill
- Irving Arts Center
- Recreation centers
- Drop-Off Recycling centers (re-opening May 29)
All offices and services will resume normal business hours May 27.
Swimming Pools: The seasonal swimming pools, as well as the West Irving and Cimarron Family aquatic centers, will open for the season May 24. The pools and aquatic centers will be open noon to 8 p.m. on Memorial Day, May 26.
Taste of Irving:
Irving is home to more than 800 eating establishments, from casual to fine dining, and it offers cuisines from across the globe. Taste of Irving will offer an opportunity to sample selections from the menus of these restaurants, while enjoying live music, children’s rides and activities, and a marketplace featuring unique and handmade items.
