The top players from the LPGA Tour will be in Dallas-Fort Worth for the North Texas LPGA Shootout, starting Thursday at Las Colinas Country Club in Irving. The $1.3 million event will feature 99 of the world’s top 100 golfers, including Fort Worth residents Angela Stanford and Gerina Piller. Also in the field will be defending champion Inbee Park, the world’s top-ranked female golfer. The tournament will feature a shootout format that cuts the field to the top 70 players after 36 holes and another cut that trims the list of competitors to 50 for Sunday’s final round. Two spots in Thursday’s opening round are reserved for high school qualifiers (Annika Clark, Maddie Szeryk), with two more set aside for the top two finishers in Monday’s college qualifier at the 6,410-yard, par-71 course in Irving.
