Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport dropped in one world ranking this week, but rose in another, according to statistics released in the Airports Council International’s latest rankings.
D/FW Airport ranked ninth in the world in terms of passengers in 2013, down one from the previous year, but jumped one spot in the rankings of the world’s busiest airports. D/FW Airport is now the third-busiest airport in the world, with 678,059 take offs and landings, a 4.3 percent increase from 2012. That was enough to move D/FW Airport from fourth to third. In August, D/FW Airport will have train service with the opening of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Orange Line station at Terminal A.
D/FW Airport is the hub for American Airlines
(Nasdaq: AAL), the world’s largest airline.
