The Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce with celebrity host Gloria Campos entertained a sold out crowd at the Chamber’s annual Best in Irving Awards Celebration at the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas in Las Colinas on April 10.
The annual event and awards celebration recognizes winners from an online contest hosted by the Irving Chamber. This year, more than 31,000 votes were cast for the Chamber’s 67 categories from Best Burger in Irving to Best Community Volunteer in Irving.
North Texas TV legend Gloria Campos, WFAA-TV’s longest running weeknight anchor, presented Best in Irving awards to the winners on stage at the Four Seasons.
This year’s biggest winner, sweeping five of the 67 Best in Irving categories was PJ’s Café, which has been open a year and a half in Irving on North O’Connor Road, north of State Highway 183. PJ’s Café won Best Affordable Dining, Best Breakfast, Best Place for Dessert, Best Place for Chicken Fried Steak and Best Home Cooking in Irving.
Another big winner of the night was Irving public relations firm Cooksey Communications, which won the Chamber’s Annual Small Business of the Year Award and Best Public Relations Firm in Irving.
The Chamber’s highly coveted Mustang Legacy Awards went to State Representative Linda Harper Brown and her husband Bill Brown and Irving Chamber President/CEO Chris Wallace. The Mustang Legacy Award is given annually by the Irving business community and recognizes an organization or individual that exemplifies the spirit of free enterprise and excellence in civic and community engagement.
