Some of Irving’s top business leaders are volunteering to lead a membership event for the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce in April.

For two and a half days, more than 100 volunteers from Irving’s business community will work against the clock in a competitive race to sign up new Chamber members and create a greater community awareness of the important role the Chamber plays in the Irving community.

The event is organized by Jimmy Cusano and a group called Your Chamber Connection, which specializes in high-energy membership campaigns that allow volunteers play a role in membership by sharing the Chamber’s story in the community while building a strong membership base.

The Chamber’s 11 teams will be led by Team Chairs. Chairs for the Membership Event are John Boyle, Boyle & Lowry, L.L.P.; David Griggs, Business Interiors; Don Herring, Don Herring Mitsubishi; R.W. Holleman, Business Evolution; Dennis Little, Stephens Little; Robert Martinez, Cotten Schmidt & Abbott, L.L.P.; Tracy Merzi, The Dallas Business Journal; Jesus Monroy, Mexinco; Peter Plantes, CHRISTUS Health; Naomi Smith, Comerica Bank; and Jackie Wroblewski, BB&T.

“The Irving Chamber is so excited to have so many individuals from our prestigious business community participating in the event and sharing the Chamber’s importance in the community from their perspective as involved members and business leaders in the community,” said Michael Gonzales, Chairman of the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce.

Your Chamber Connection has hosted the event for Chambers nationwide, as well as area Chambers recently with much success.

“The Chamber of Commerce is the business community, and this event brings everyone together to build the Chamber,” said Cusano, event coordinator. “Chambers are membership-based organizations and this event brings leaders together in a competitive, fun setting to tell the Chamber story. When others hear about everything the Chamber does, all of a sudden you have a great deal of enthusiasm for the Chamber, and a great deal of support.”

The Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce Membership Event will kick-off April 29 and conclude May 1 at the Irving Chamber, 5201 N. O’Connor Blvd., Suite 100 in Irving.
