The forum is part of the FIRST Robotics Regional Championships, where area and state high school teams will compete against high school teams from Brazil and Hawaii for more than $15 million in scholarships.
The forum will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, March 14 at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas, 500 W. Las Colinas Blvd. in Irving. The robotics competition and forum are free and open to the public.
Kamen is the founder of FIRST, an organization dedicated to motivating the next generation to understand, use and enjoy science and technology, and holds more than 440 U.S. and foreign patents on innovative medical devices.
Corey L. Kirkendoll Sr., director of Vertical Solutions for VCE — a joint venture between VMware, Cisco and EMC — will also be a part of the forum’s panel. Chamber President and CEO Chris Wallace will moderate the panel.
The panel will discuss rapid advancements in technology in the past 10 years, as well as the future of technology.
