Public Input Meeting for Victoria Park Playground: A public meeting is scheduled to gather input on the proposed design and equipment for the playground at Victoria Park, 3051 Northgate Drive. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. April 1 in the cafeteria of Townsell Elementary, 3700 Pleasant Run Road. City staff members have been working with a playground consultant to design a new playground that will replace the current wooden one. Archery Clinic: Want to have fun learning how to shoot a bow and arrow? The Irving Police Athletic/Activities League (IPAL) is offering a free archery clinic for ages 10-18 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. April 1 at IPAL, 1550 Rock Island Road. Fire Hydrant Flushing: Fire hydrant flushing will occur throughout the city during March and April. Irving firefighters perform flushing to check for proper water flow and pressure, and to ensure that hydrants will work properly in case of emergency. State and federal agencies require water utilities workers to flush fire hydrants to circulate water and remove rust and other debris from lines. For more information, call (972) 721-4857.
Earth Day Eco-Film Fest: Irving will host its third annual Earth Day Eco-Film Fest from April 11-16. This free, four-day event, features eight films in four locations and provides event-goers an opportunity to see a variety of environmental films about a range of topics.
