The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) invites residents to a public meeting about proposed construction along the roads near the former Texas Stadium site. The meeting will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 20 at William B. Travis Middle School, 1600 Finley Road, Irving. The public meeting will feature exhibits that detail the proposed improvements to the following affected highways:

  • State Highway 183
  • Interstate 35E
  • State Highway 114
  • Loop 12

Funding constraints have required the project to be completed in phases. The proposed improvements are:

  • Constructing managed lanes to create a connected network of lanes between I-35E, SH 183, SH 114 and Loop 12.
  • Improve lanes, ramps and frontage roads on SH 183.
  • Create direct connectors and improvements to the general purpose lanes.

The areas along the highways have been previously cleared through an environmental assessment.

Representatives will be at the meeting to answer questions and gather input and comments from the public. Written comments can also be submitted in person or in writing to Sonja Land, Strategic Project Division Environmental Coordinator, 4777 E. Highway 80, Mesquite, TX 75150. All written comments must be hand-delivered or postmarked by March 3.

Persons interested in attending the meeting who have special communication or accommodation needs are encouraged to contact the TxDOT Dallas District Public Information Officer at (214) 320-4481. Requests should be made on or before Feb. 17. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate those requests. For more information, visit the TxDOT Meetings page.
