The Dallas Area Rapid Transit station at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport could be operating in time for State Fair of Texas in September, Morgan Lyons, a DART spokesman, said. That’s three months earlier than originally planned.
“We are trending ahead of schedule to open before December,” Lyons said. “While we’ve yet to work out all the details, we have a goal of opening by the State Fair.” The fair runs from Sept. 26 through Oct. 19 and is traditionally one of the busiest times for DART, especially for the Red River Rivalry game. The 4.7-mile Orange Line expansion from Beltline Station in Irving to Terminal A at D/FW Airport marks the final expansion of the Orange Line. The white canopies that come into view as travelers come and go from the north end of D/FW Airport are the latest sign of progress for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit station.
