Ken Travis, founding partner and chairman of the board for TravisWolff, said firm members knew from the initial meeting that the two companies’ cultures and commitment to client service would be an ideal match.
“Our merger with the outstanding people of Nicholas Montgomery positions our combined firm to provide unique opportunities to our staff, our clients and our community,” Travis told the Dallas Business Journal.
The firms will operate under the TravisWolff name and will office from TravisWolff’s location in Tollway Plaza at Keller Springs and the Dallas North Tollway. Financial terms of the merger were not disclosed.
Nicholas Montgomery was founded in 1987 by Kenneth Nicholas and Samuel Montgomery. The firm provides audit, tax and consulting services for entrepreneur-owned businesses, individuals and not-for-profit organizations.
TravisWolff, founded in 1991 by Ken Travisand Ed Wolff, is an independent accounting and advisory firm that offers assurance, tax and consulting services to emerging companies, established companies, individuals and families. TravisWolff also provides specialized services in compensation and benefits planning, IT auditing, collaborative divorce consulting, employee benefit plan audits, estate planning, exit planning, litigation and transactional advisory services and forensic accounting.
Six partners and 12 managers, staff accountants and administrative associates will join TravisWolff as part of the deal, raising the firm’s headcount to 103.
As a combined firm, TravisWolff priorities will include providing an expanded scope of services, promoting a family atmosphere and taking a strategic approach to expansion, Travis said.
