The University of Dallas is No. 2 among the state’s 31 regional public and private universities on U.S. News & World Report’s 2014 rankings for the nation’s “Best Colleges.”

The Irving-based private Catholic university is also ranked No. 13 out of 121 in the west region, which encompasses 15 western states including California and Colorado, and No. 7 among Catholic institutions in the West.

The report recognized the university as one of 15 “Best Value Schools” in the West and as an “A+ School for B Students.”

Since July, the university has been selected for multiple “best-college” and “best-buy” lists including The Princeton Review, Forbes and the Fiske Guide to Colleges.
