Many Irving ISD elementary students returned to renovated buildings Monday with features designed to make the schools safer and secure for students and staff. New entrances require guests to be buzzed in through a locked door to gain access to the office where they can then pick up a visitor badge after being scanned through Raptor, a visitor check-in and screening system. The district’s goal is to have all 20 elementary schools configured this way by the end of the school year.
