Irving Sister Cities presented its 3rd Annual Sounds of Mexico Concert to a almost full Carpenter Performance Hall at the Irving Arts Center. The concert featured “Songs of Guanajuato.” Irving’s sister city, Leon, is in Guanajuato.

The singers were Juan Miguel Lopez and Lupita Leal. Accompanying them on the piano was Felipe Ramirez. Also performing was theMariarchi Mexicanissimo ensemble.

The talented performers received warm applause and standing ovations. The audience even sang along on the more popular songs.

Robert Mercer of Irving wrote a song that was performed on the piano. (Lopez said he couldn’t sing it since it was not written for a tenor, which he is.)
