The CompTIA Security+ course provides students with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to become an IT security professional. The instructor-led campus course will address how to effectively identify risk and participate in risk mitigation activities, as well as provide infrastructure, application, operational and information security.

This 40 contact-hour, non-credit prep course is developed to help prepare students to sit for the Security+ Certification exam. It’s targeted at those who have a background in IT network administration with a focus on security.

Course Learning Objectives: 

  • OS hardening procedures
  • Common ports and protocols
  • IDS and IPS solutions for host and network defense
  • Discretionary, mandatory, rule-based and role-based access control implementations
  • Common security protocols (SSH, SSL, IPSec)
  •  Types of environmental control solutions
