The Texas Wild celebrated a well-deserved victory after Saturday night’s win against the Boston Lobsters at the Four Seasons Resort & Club in Las Colinas.

After last week’s 25-15 loss to the Orange County Breakers, the Wild looked to step-up their intensity in the Saturday night match-up.

“I feel really good because we bounced back very well after last week’s match,” Texas Wild coach Brent Haygarth explained. “The team was fired up. We knew we needed to get a win.”

The match began with Darija Jurak and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi of the Texas Wild vs. Katalin Marosi and Eric Butorac of Boston in Mixed Doubles. The two teams traded wins until the pairs were tied 4-4. Texas began the 9-point tie breaker game with two quick points for a solid lead; however, the Boston team was able to counter, eventually winning the game 5-3, resulting in the overall set score of 5-4 Boston.

Qureshi is currently ranked No. 11 in Doubles as of June 2013. He also started the Stop War Start Tennis charity that aims to help victims of landmines and other weapons of war.

Perhaps the highlight of Saturday night’s win was the Women’s Doubles match up. Texas Wild team members Darija Jurak and Eugenie Bouchard dominated the set, beating Jill Craybas and Katalin Marosi of the Boston Lobsters, 5-0.
